他們從小鎮出發  開了一個小時的車  找到一間賭場
The waitress babysat the boy at the bar, oh no
女服務員在吧檯幫吉米照顧小男孩

After an hour, Jimmy doubled his cash
一小時過後  吉米把他的錢翻了一倍
He took his kid and his winnings as the dealer just laughed
莊家笑著看他帶著他的孩子跟贏來的錢離開
He said they leave, but then they always come back, that's a fact
莊家說  雖然他們現在離開了  但他們總是會再回到這裡  這是永遠不變的事實

Out on the road, they caught a stranger in the lights

His old man waved his hands with tears in his eyes
他的老爸眼中含淚的揮著手
But Jimmy's son just sped up and remembered daddy's advice
但是吉米的兒子加速離去  因為他謹記他爸爸的忠告

不  你絕對不能讓任何人搭便車  因為流落街頭的不是我們就是他們

附註：

整張專輯10+3首歌是一個家庭完整的故事，這是其中第8個，我特別喜歡這首歌，所以選擇翻譯這首歌。
這首歌是在說一對父子的關係，因為爸爸酗酒、貧窮、賭博、作息不正常等各種問題，所以兒子深受影響，
所以歌詞中 spare my blood 就是在說，可以饒恕我的血液，意指不希望他成為跟我一樣的人。

Take someone for a ride： 一般來說是指載人兜風，但有另一個意思是欺騙別人。

Jim said you never give a hitcher a ride 'cause it's us or them：
這裡是在說，吉米教兒子要小心陌生人，不要隨便讓人搭便車，有點類似隨便幫助別人只會惹禍上身。
但也代表吉米從小就教兒子要當一個自私自利的人。

The Lumineers是美國樂團，美國用的是英里、華氏，所以 8 mi ≒ 12.87 km， 18°F ≒ -7.7°C，
所以乾脆翻成我們常用的單位比較看得懂。

graveyard是墓地，graveyard shift 意思是上夜班，凌晨班。

最後一段吉米對他兒子含淚揮著手，樂團說：
「我認為這有兩層含意，你無法確定他為什麼繼續開車，甚至知不知道他是吉米？
如果他這樣做了，那是什麼意思？我認為對於一個身邊沒有癮君子的人來說，這聽起來可能很殘忍，
但是對於曾經經歷過家中有癮君子的人來說，很不幸的，很多人都明白這意味著什麼。」

這一段我本來以為是兒子變得跟吉米一樣淪落，而且更加墮落，但是根據樂團上面這一段說法，
表示兒子試圖擺脫一切，讓自己的生活回到正軌，所以債台高築的人應該是吉米。
